📺 Auch in der zweiten Staffel bleibt »The Orville« großartig. Während die erste Staffelhälfte dem gewohnten, schon sehr guten Duktus folgt, drehen MacFarlane & Co. ab der Doppelfolge „Identity“ (2×08+09) noch mehr auf und liefern nicht mehr nur die beste Star-Trek-Serie ab, sondern zeigen gekonnt, dass sie auch Star Wars könn(t)en.
Gebt den Leuten mehr Geld und Aufgaben: Ich will mehr Staffeln, einen Orville-Film und neue Star Trek- und Star Wars-Serien von diesem Team!
»The Orville« – Season 1
📺 Auch kürzlich beendet und ebenfalls für großartig befunden: Die erste Staffel von Seth MacFarlanes SciFi-Comedy »The Orville«, die zwar mit einer Prise des MacFarlane-typischen Humors daher kommt, allen voran aber eine überaus gelungene Hommage an »Star Trek: The Next Generation« darstellt. Am 30.12. startet die zweite Staffel und bin bestimmt nicht der einzige, der sich auf »The Orville« mehr freut als auf alles vom Original-Franchise.

Nach der überraschenden Ankündigung von neulich, dass Quentin Tarantino an einem Star Trek-Film arbeite, hier nun der passende Fan-made Mashup-Trailer dazu, der Kirk & Co. in Tarantinos Grindhouse-Welt verfrachtet:

Netflix will be the exclusive premiere home of “Star Trek” in 188 countries (excluding the US and Canada). Each episode of the new series will be available globally within 24 hours of its U.S. premiere.
Additionally, all 727 existing episodes of the iconic “Star Trek” television library – including “Star Trek: The Original Series,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: Voyager” and “Star Trek: Enterprise” will be available on Netflix around the world by the end of 2016.

CBS Television Studios announced today it will launch a totally new Star Trek television series in January 2017. […] Alex Kurtzman will serve as executive producer for the new Star Trek TV series. Kurtzman co-wrote and produced the blockbuster films Star Trek (2009) with Roberto Orci, and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) with Orci and Damon Lindelof.
