GitHub sichert am 02.02.2020 alle aktiven Open-Source-Repositories für 1.000 Jahre in der Arktis

The GitHub Arctic Code Vault is a data repository preserved in the Arctic World Archive (AWA), a very-long-term archival facility 250 meters deep in the permafrost of an Arctic mountain. […] GitHub will capture a snapshot of every active public repository on 02/02/2020 and preserve that data in the Arctic Code Vault.

Also noch zwei Wochen um euren Code (oder eure Webseite… 😏) als offenes Repository auf GitHub einzustellen, das euch dann überdauern wird.

Update, 02.02.2020: Ich habe heute noch schnell ein statisches Archiv dieser Webseite für’s ewige Eis angelegt.

Today we’re releasing Phoenix to give [Apple] a friendly nudge. It’s what friends do when they notice someone they care about making a mistake. We hope Apple does the right thing and release Swift under a free and open license so we can contribute to that instead of needlessly duplicating effort building our own version.
