Wild Bread is a photography journal of bread found discarded in public. All photos are authentic compositions of bread of unknown origin. The Wild Bread project began with a series of photos in 2019 after being astounded how much bread I could find while going about my day in the city.

Exploratory interfaces for navigating photos
This is the largest and most detailed photo ever taken of a work of art. It is 717 gigapixels, or 717,000,000,000 pixels, in size.
The distance between two pixels is 5 micrometres (0.005 millimetre), which means that one pixel is smaller than a human red blood cell.
The team used a 100-megapixel Hasselblad H6D 400 MS-camera to make 8439 individual photos measuring 5.5cm x 4.1cm. Artificial intelligence was used to stitch these smaller photographs together to form the final large image, with a total file size of 5.6 terabytes.

NASA’s Curiosity rover captured its highest-resolution panorama yet of the Martian surface between Nov. 24 and Dec. 1, 2019. A version without the rover contains nearly 1.8 billion pixels; a version with the rover contains nearly 650 million pixels. Und tatsächlich habe ich bis heute noch nie darüber nachgedacht, dass unsere Eltern und Großeltern ohne dieses Konzept der Erde aufgewachsen sind. Hier mit »Earthrise«, die erste fotografische Gesamtansicht der Erde, aufgenommen 1968 während der Apollo 8-Mission, und »Blue Marble«, die letzte (!) Komplettaufnahme von 1972 (!!) während Apollo 17.
Der Autor Frank White spricht in diesem Zusammenhang vom Overview-Effekt, den Raumfahrer erleben, wenn sie zum ersten Mal den Planeten aus dem Weltall sehen. Drüben bei shortfil.ms haben wir eine ziemlich gute Dokumentation, die sich diesem Phänomen in 20 Minuten widmet. Ansehempfehlung!
Instagram für Bilder, die mit Drohnen aufgenommen wurden. Eigentlich war das zu erwarten. Hier z.B. die aus Deutschland (bisher leider nur eins aus Köln).
Nichts damit zu tun, aber wegen Namensgleichheit erwähnenswert ist zudem dieser Instagram-Account, in dem James Bridle seit 2012 eben keine beeindruckenden Aufnahmen von Hobby-Fliegern und -Filmern postet, sondern Luftaufnahmen von Orten, an denen kürzlich tödliche Drohnenangriffe stattfanden. Die Kehrseite der Medaille, wenn man so will.
