# Apple launches App Store for the Web

Nachdem Meta mit Instagram für’s iPad und [demnächst WhatsApp für die Apple Watch](https://www.heise.de/news/Geplant-WhatsApp-bekommt-Apple-Watch-Anwendung-10965538.html) vorgelegt hat, macht nun auch Apple einen auf Captain Obvious und bringt den 2008 gestarteten [App Store ins World Wide Web](https://apps.apple.com/): einsehbar und durchsuchbar; sicherlich auch für das freundliche LLM aus der Nachbarschaft.

Was kommt als Nächstes? [FaceTime als offener Standard](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FaceTime#Standards)? Oder vielleicht eine Kauf-/Download-Funktion im neuen Web App Store? Diese fehlt nämlich [wie John Vorhees irritiert feststellt](https://www.macstories.net/news/apple-recreated-the-app-store-on-the-web-with-no-way-to-download-or-buy-apps/):
