# GitHub sichert am 02.02.2020 alle aktiven Open-Source-Repositories für 1.000 Jahre in der Arktis

> The GitHub Arctic Code Vault is a data repository preserved in the [Arctic World Archive](https://www.arcticworldarchive.org/) (AWA), a very-long-term archival facility 250 meters deep in the permafrost of an Arctic mountain. \[…\] GitHub will capture a snapshot of every active public repository on 02/02/2020 and preserve that data in the Arctic Code Vault.

Also noch zwei Wochen um euren Code (oder eure Webseite… 😏) als offenes Repository auf GitHub einzustellen, das euch dann überdauern wird.
